Nissan Pathfinder Trims
Overview
The three-row 2019 Nissan Pathfinder combines comfort and safety in each of its four trims, the S, SV, SL, and Platinum. Front-wheel drive comes standard on all trims with an option to upgrade to intelligent four-wheel drive; that feature comes with a power display, selectable driving modes, and a full-lock setting for slippery roads. This family-friendly large crossover has wide rear doors that open to a spacious second row that slides forward to allow easy access to the third row. The stylishly designed and spacious interior offers 79.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the second and third rows folded flat. All trims are eligible to add a tow hitch receiver with a 7-pin wiring harness; the maximum towing capacity is 6,000 pounds.
The 3.5-liter engine in all trims pairs with the Xtronic continuously variable transmission, which uses software to monitor velocity inputs and accelerator pedal positions to regulate gears and transfer controls for top fuel efficiency. Fuel economy for the FWD model is up to 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, while the 4WD models get up to 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. When it’s equipped with low-beam LED headlights, the 2019 Pathfinder is an IIHS Top Safety Pick.
The S Trim
Daily drives are more enjoyable with the practical features that are included in the base S. Roof rails, tri-zone automatic climate control, a rearview monitor, and an automatic emergency braking system all come standard. The infotainment system showcases an 8-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth compatibility, a six-speaker audio system with HD radio, and six USB ports. As part of the safety tech, advanced airbags, automatic emergency braking, and a vehicle immobilizer system come installed.
The SV
A multitude of safety and comfort features are upgraded in the SV. Driving aid improvements include fog lights, intelligent cruise control, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Drivers can heat or cool their vehicle ahead of time by using the remote engine start. Nissan’s HomeLink universal transceiver is also included, allowing the Pilot to connect to home devices such as security systems and garage doors. The SV offers an optional all-weather and tech package that includes heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
The SL
The SL continues to add to the list of all-weather features and includes LED low-beam projector headlights and dual power heated outside mirrors with a reverse tilt-down feature. The added convenience features include an intelligent around view monitor, which provides a bird’s-eye view to show the vehicle’s position in relation to surrounding objects. The infotainment package in the SL can be upgraded to the 13-speaker Bose Premium Audio system with Acoustic Waveguide Technology.
The Platinum
The top tier trim embodies all of the previously mentioned features and adds finishing touches that include 20-inch alloy wheels, ventilated climate-controlled front seats, a power-adjustable steering wheel, wood-tone interior trim, and a dual-panel panoramic moonroof. The Bose audio system is now standard; available entertainment upgrades include a dual 8-inch headrest display system.
