Nissan Honored With Selection As Official Truck of the Circuit of The Americas (COTA)
The only purpose-built Grand-Prix facility in the U.S. lives in Austin, TX—so just a little bit of a drive from us here in West Springfield—and recently, Nissan was given the high honor of representing the Official Truck of just that facility, officially known as the Circuit of The Americas (COTA). Nissan may be the Official Truck of COTA, but it will be bringing more than just trucks to the track!
This multi-year agreement will see Nissan TITAN® and Nissan TITAN® XD pickup trucks serving the track as safety vehicles, track maintenance vehicles, and even track sweeps. In addition to the two burly pickup models, Nissan will also lend the track one Nissan Murano SUV model and one Nissan GT-R to serve as safety cars and pace cars during track events.
“Nissan is looking forward to a great partnership with COTA in the years ahead, where we can showcase our Nissan trucks in their natural setting – working hard every day,” said Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager, North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. “With every TITAN half-ton and TITAN XD covered by ‘America’s Best Truck Warranty,’ we’re confident that they are more than up to the task.” —from a June 23, 2017 Nissan USA Press Release
Sure, it might not make any sense to be season ticket holders all the way up here in West Springfield, but we’re stoked to look on from afar and watch the blossoming of a beautiful relationship between Nissan and one of the preeminent motorsports facilities in America. Nissan is surely no stranger to track-bound motorsports, so this partnership is only natural. If you’d like to get a little taste of what will be on the COTA track in the coming few years, come into our showroom to check out the Murano, TITAN®, TITAN® XD, or give us a call about placing an order for your own Nissan GT-R.
