For 2025, the Z’s lineup consists of the Sport, Performance, and NISMO. A twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 powers all three trims, which are rear-wheel drive. In the Sport and Performance, the engine produces 400 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, while the NISMO’s output is boosted to 420 horsepower and 384 lb.-ft. of torque. The Sport and Performance are available with a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission (no extra cost for either option). The automatic is the sole gearbox for the NISMO.
The Sport and Performance are EPA-rated to achieve 18 mpg in city driving and 24 mpg on the highway with the manual and 19 mpg around town and 28 mpg on the highway with the automatic. The NISMO is estimated to return 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway.
The well-equipped Sport has automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting (including double-ring 3D signature taillights), fabric upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, proximity keyless entry, and push-button start. It also comes with leather-wrapped areas (steering wheel, shift knob, and emergency brake handle), a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, power side mirrors, dual USB ports, center console knee pads, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels with high-performance tires.
A rev-matching manual transmission is standard on the Performance, although the automatic tranny with GT-R-style paddle shifters is a no-cost option. This trim earns its name through Akebono brake calipers, larger vented disc brakes, a mechanical limited-slip differential, chin and rear spoilers, and launch control. Nissan also includes heated four-way power seats with leather surfaces and synthetic suede inserts, heated side mirrors, aluminum-trimmed pedals, active noise cancellation in the cabin, and 19-inch forged-alloy wheels. The NISMO expands on the Performance’s formula by adding trim-exclusive aerodynamic elements (front and rear fascias, side sills, and rear spoiler), Recaro leather-trimmed seats with Alcantara inserts, a NISMO-tuned suspension and steering system, red-painted brake calipers, upgraded brake rotors, reinforced body points, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and a sport muffler.
The 2025 Nissan Z has a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver alertness monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. A rearview monitor is also installed, as are a set of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and hill start assist.
The Sport’s 8-inch touchscreen handles infotainment duties, while the two higher trims have a 9-inch touchscreen. Both platforms have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and hands-free text messaging. Navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and access to NissanConnect services are standard upgrades in the Performance and NISMO. The Sport has a six-speaker sound system, while the other two are move up to an eight-speaker Bose setup.
