The 2025 Nissan Frontier is a midsized body-on-frame pickup truck offered with five trim packages called S, SV, PRO-X, PRO-4X, and SL. All are equipped with a 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 281 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD), although 4WD is standard in the PRO-4X. The EPA-rated fuel economy stands at 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway for RWD models and 16 mpg city/20 mpg highway for 4WD versions. In addition to its robust 7,150-pound maximum towing capacity, the ’25 Frontier has a payload limit of 1,610 pounds.
The entry-level S has everything you need for a well-rounded journey, including cloth upholstery, remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, manually adjustable front seats, a 60/40-split flip-up rear bench seat, a 7-inch multi-information display, four USB ports, and a 12-volt power outlet. The optional S Utility Package will supply two 120-volt power outlets. The SV adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, while the optional SV Convenience Package bundles the two 120-volt outlets with heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED fog lights, and the Utili-track cargo system.
The rugged PRO-X features all-terrain tires, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, proximity keyless entry, and LED headlights and fog lights. With the optional PRO Premium Package, you’ll get leather upholstery, a moonroof, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. There’s also the PRO-X Convenience Package, which bundles heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, two 120-volt power outlets, and heated side mirrors. The PRO-4X is similar, but it’s equipped with standard 4WD and a switch-operated two-speed transfer case. It’s also eligible for the same upgrade packages listed for the PRO-X.
The range-topping SL guarantees the most refinement with leather upholstery, heated front seats, a moonroof, heated side mirrors, wireless phone charging, remote start, HomeLink, a spray-on bedliner, and the Utili-track cargo system. The spray-on bedliner and remote start are available for all of the other trims, and the Utili-track system can be optioned on the SV, PRO-X, and PRO-4X.
Every ‘25 Frontier trim comes with Nissan’s advanced Safety Shield 360 suite, which groups forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, reverse automatic braking, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, adaptive cruise control, and rear parking sensors. The PRO-X and PRO-4X trims’ optional PRO Premium Package provides traffic sign recognition, while the PRO-X and PRO-4X Convenience Packages include a surround-view monitor. Both features come standard on the top-tier SL.
The base S has a crisp 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a four-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. Meanwhile, the SV and higher upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an audio system with six speakers. The PRO-X and PRO-4X with the optional PRO Premium Package gain navigation, and their available Fender Audio Package delivers a premium 10-speaker Fender sound system, both of which are standard in the SL.
