Trims and Powertrains

Nissan presents the all-new 2025 Armada in trim levels called SV, SL, PRO-4X, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve. A twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with an output of 425 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque slides in to replace the previous Armada generation’s 400-hp 5.6-liter V8. A nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters rounds out the powertrain, adding two gears over the 2024 version’s seven-speed transmission. While the PRO-4X comes with standard 4WD, the other trims get rear-wheel drive by default but are eligible for 4WD as an option. Every trim gets Trailer Sway Control (as mentioned, the towing limit is 8,500 lb.) and a drive-mode selector with modes labeled Standard, Eco, Sport, Tow, Snow, Sand, Rock, and Mud/Rut).

Standard Features

As the base Armada, the SV gets a three-person bench seat in both the second and third row, allowing it to fit up to eight occupants. Among the other standard features are remote start, automatic LED headlights, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, a 12.3-inch driver information display, power-adjustable front seats (eight ways for the driver and four for the passenger), tri-zone automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, power exterior mirrors, rain-sensing and speed-sensing wipers (front and rear), a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a half-dozen USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The utility factor is excellent, thanks to standard roof rails, running boards, and a pre-wired Class IV tow hitch receiver.

The SL is eligible for second-row captain’s chairs in lieu of the bench seat, reducing passenger capacity to seven. The standard upgrades for this trim are wireless smartphone charging, heated front seats, TailorFit (premium leatherette) upholstery, a ten-way power driver’s seat, a six-way power front passenger seat, position memory for the driver, LED fog lights, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a power-folding third row with one-touch EZ FLEX access, and 20-inch wheels. The PRO-4X goes back to the middle-row bench and adds specific off-road attributes such as an electronic locking rear differential, higher approach angles, skid plates, all-terrain tires on 20-inch wheels, and Lava Red tow hooks. It also gets a digital rearview mirror, heated power exterior mirrors (power tilt and fold and auto-dimming), and special leather seats with quilted inserts and stitching. A panoramic moonroof is optional.

The Platinum starts with the SL’s roster of features and piles on the luxury with quilted leather upholstery, a panoramic moonroof, heated and ventilated 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a motion-activated liftgate, a 14.3-inch driver information display, auto-dimming heated power tilt/fold exterior mirrors, ambient cabin lighting with 64 colors, a digital rearview mirror, an in-car camera, and a dash cam. But its most noteworthy attribute is biometric cooling, where ceiling-mounted infrared sensors automatically adjust the cabin temperature for the occupants of the first two rows. At the top of the trim hierarchy, the Platinum Reserve makes a statement with all of the above, plus massaging front seats, body-color running boards (they are black on the other trims), and 22-inch alloy wheels (machined and painted). Both the Platinum and Platinum Reserve get the seven-passenger setup with heated second-row captain’s chairs, but buyers who want to seat eight can opt for the bench seat instead.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is installed in all five 2025 Armada trims, equipping them with automatic high beams, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and intervention, blind-spot warning and intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear automatic braking. Also standard is trailer blind-spot warning, with the ability to detect vehicles alongside trailers up to 33 feet long. All but the base SV receive a surround-view monitor with Invisible Hood View and Front Wide View modes to simplify maneuvering at low speeds.

ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driver support is found on the SV, while the others get an upgrade to ProPILOT Assist 1.1. The SL, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve may add the optional ProPILOT Assist 2.1 for hands-free driving on single-lane highways. A rearview monitor and a full set of airbags are standard, along with stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, hill start assist, and hill descent control.

Staying Informed and Connected

The base infotainment system in the redesigned Nissan Armada’s two lowest trims has a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, while the PRO-4X and the two Platinum trims are upgraded with a 14.3-inch screen. Only the SV misses out on navigation, Google built-in apps (Google Maps, Google Assistant, etc.), and access to NissanConnect services. Wireless smartphone connection (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) is found on all trims, as are Bluetooth and SiriusXM satellite radio. The SV’s more basic sound system comes with six speakers, while the four trims above it receive a high-quality Klipsch system with 12 speakers.
