Trims and Powertrains

Nissan offers four trim levels for the 2025 Altima – S, SV, SR, and SL – all of which have a 188-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard configuration, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional on the SV and above. With AWD, the engine output dips a tad to 182 horsepower. Both drivetrains are managed by a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

With FWD, the 2025 Altima is EPA-rated to return 27 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway (the SR and SL are estimated to achieve 27 mpg on the highway). The fuel economy estimations change with AWD to 25 mpg around town and 34 mpg on the open road. The trunk offers 15.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

Standard Features and Option Packages

The Altima S is focused on the essentials with a sprinkling of conveniences, with remote start, remote keyless entry, fabric upholstery, air conditioning, automatic LED headlights, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, push-button start, a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, power side mirrors, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, a 5-inch driver information display, two USB ports, and 16-inch steel wheels with covers. The SV is upgraded with proximity keyless entry, a 7-inch driver information display, an eight-way power driver’s seat, wood-tone interior accents, four USB ports, and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The new SV Special Edition Package will add a power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear spoiler, dual chrome exhaust finishers, 17-inch wheels with a black finish, and additional infotainment features (which are covered in the last section). It’s also eligible for the SV Premium Package (a power moonroof, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, power lumbar support for the driver’s seat, a wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an electronic parking brake, dual chrome exhaust finishers, and additional safety and infotainment technologies).

Nissan puts a sporty spin on the Altima SR, which expands on the SV’s amenities with a sport-tuned suspension, active ride control, trace control (for better braking while cornering), paddle shifters with a manual shift mode, trim-specific cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, unique exterior accents, and 19-inch wheels. The optional SR Premium Package will furnish it with a power moonroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a four-way power front passenger seat, power lumbar support for the driver’s seat, carbon-fiber-look interior accents, wireless device charging, and infotainment upgrades.

The Altima rises higher toward luxury with the SL, which receives a power moonroof, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, a four-way power front passenger seat, rear seat air-conditioning vents, sound-reducing front door glass, power side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, wireless device charging, and 19-inch wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Equipment

Nissan Safety Shield 360 comes standard across the Altima trim range. This group of the latest safety technologies includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, a driver alertness monitor, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. Lane intervention and ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driving support come with the SL and are part of the SV Premium package. The SL also gets a surround-view monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Infotainment in the first three 2025 Altimas is managed via an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM satellite radio. However, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and NissanConnect services is standard on the SL as well as being part of the SV Special Edition and SV and SR Premium Packages. The S, SV, and SR get a basic audio system with six speakers, while the SL is loaded with a Bose unit and nine speakers.
