You’ll have three trim choices with the ’24 Z: Sport, Performance, and NISMO. A 400-horsepower (350 pounds-feet of torque) twin-turbo V6 is the heart of the Sport and Performance. Its power is sent to the rear wheels through the purist’s choice of a six-speed manual transmission, or the available nine-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. The NISMO kicks things up a notch to 420 hp and 384 lb.-ft. of torque with the same V6 but a standard nine-speed automatic.
When it’s set up with the 6-speed manual tranny, the Z hits 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds; the automatic drops that to 4.3 seconds. The automatic transmission supplies higher fuel efficiency at 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway for the lower trims and 17 city/24 highway for the NISMO. The manual versions of the Sport and Performance achieve 18 city/24 highway.
The Sport has manually adjustable seats with cloth upholstery. Its other main features are automatic climate control, a 12.3” fully digital dashboard with a 3-bay gauge cluster (turbo boost, turbo turbine speed, and voltmeter), a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, the Nissan Intelligent Key, two 12-volt power outlets, USB charging ports, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power outside mirrors, LED headlights, dual exhaust finishers, a one-touch hatch release, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The Performance is upgraded with leather-appointed heated seats with synthetic-suede inserts, four-way power-adjustable seats with lumbar support for the driver, a HomeLink universal transceiver, aluminum-capped pedals, heated outside mirrors with turn indicators, front and rear spoilers, Akebono four-piston front calipers with 14-inch rotors, and 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels.
The coveted NISMO has Recaro seats with Alcantara leather inserts, an Alcantara leather-wrapped steering wheel, 15-inch front brake rotors, a trim-specific aerodynamic body (with unique front and rear fascia, a rear spoiler, and side sills), a NISMO-tuned suspension, and 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels.
Every Nissan Z has these driver-assist technologies installed: adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, rear cross-traffic alert, and driver alertness monitoring.
The Sport gets an 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers, while the Performance and NISMO get a 9-inch version with an 8-speaker Bose sound system with dual subwoofers. All trims have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Door-to-door navigation with real-time traffic is standard on the two higher trims, as are wireless Apple CarPlay, Alexa Built-In, trial access to NissanConnect Services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
