There are five trims for the 2024 Pathfinder: S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum. The sole powertrain is a 3.5-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It makes 284 horsepower in most trims; output increases to 295 hp in the Rock Creek when premium fuel is used. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard on the S, SV, SL, and Platinum, with all-wheel drive (AWD) optional and included with the Rock Creek. The S trim has a towing limit of 3,500 pounds, but the higher trims can handle up to 6,000 pounds.
The FWD Pathfinder has been estimated by the EPA to achieve 20 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the open road. With AWD, the fuel economy changes 21 mpg in the city for the S and SV and 20 city/25 highway for the SL and Platinum. The Rock Creek returns 20 city/23 highway.
The eight-passenger Pathfinder S has a long list of standard equipment, led by proximity keyless entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting with automatic headlights, push-button start, fabric upholstery, rear privacy glass, a 7-inch driver information display, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The SV gets remote start, a ten-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, heated power side mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and black roof rails. The elective SV Premium Package will add a panoramic moonroof, a power tailgate, second-row fold-down captain’s chairs with a removable center console, and a trailer hitch receiver with a wiring harness.
The Pathfinder goes further upscale with the SL, where the upgrades include leather-trimmed seats for the first and second rows, a power tailgate, a heated steering wheel, a four-way power front passenger seat, enhanced proximity keyless entry, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The optional SL Premium Package adds heated outboard second-row seats and 20-inch wheels.
The Rock Creek is equipped like the SL but with an off-road-tuned suspension, a black tubular roof rack, LED fog lights, unique exterior accents, second-row fold-down captain’s chairs with a removable center console, trim-specific leatherette upholstery with fabric inserts, and 18-inch alloy wheels with a black finish.
At the top of the lineup, the Platinum pampers its passengers with semi-aniline quilted leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a hands-free liftgate. The driver gets to enjoy a position memory system, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, power-folding side mirrors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. This trim comes with a second-row bench, but a pair of elegant captain’s chairs is available as an alternative.
All 2024 Pathfinders receive Nissan Safety Shield 360 with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, automatic high beams, and a driver alertness monitor. All trims get rear parking sensors; the SL and above also get front parking sensors. ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driving system and enhanced lane intervention and blind-spot monitoring technologies are added at the SV level. A surround-view monitor (including an off-road mode for the Rock Creek) is included with the SL and higher trims. The SL and Platinum also receive traffic sign recognition. Nissan also includes a full set of airbags, anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability control, traction control, hill start assist, automatic brake hold, and a rearview monitor (for trims without a surround-view monitor).
The infotainment features in the S, SV, and Rock Creek are handled through an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SL and Platinum upgrade to a 9-inch touchscreen. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, dual 12-volt outlets, a text messaging assistant, and multiple USB ports complete the systems. Most trims have a six-speaker audio system; a 13-speaker Bose unit comes within the SL Premium Package and is standard on the Platinum. The SV and above include access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and NissanConnect Services. The SL and Platinum also get navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, and additional USB ports.
