The 2024 Nissan Murano is a five-passenger compact crossover presented in a foursome of trim packages: SV, Midnight Edition, SL, and Platinum. Their 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 260 hp and 240 lb.-ft. of torque and pairs with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While front-wheel drive is standard, any trim can be upgraded with all-wheel drive for improved traction and stability. All trims return an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. You can even tow a small trailer, since the Murano is rated to pull up to 1,500 pounds.
The SV will spoil you with proximity keyless entry and remote start, along with automatic LED headlights, LED fog lights, roof rails, heated side mirrors, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, simulated-leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated power-adjustable front seats, and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback. The Midnight Edition shares those same features while flaunting a blacked-out exterior with trim-specific badging.
The SL gets the same overall look as the SV but gains a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a dual-panel panoramic moonroof, a hands-free liftgate, a HomeLink universal garage door opener, ambient interior lighting, position memory for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, and heated rear outboard seats. At the top of the lineup, the Platinum gets ventilated front seats, semi-aniline leather upholstery with diamond-quilted inserts, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with position memory, and a steering wheel wrapped with smooth leather.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is installed on every trim. This high-tech suite contains intelligent cruise control, intelligent forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, intelligent lane intervention, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, and intelligent driver alertness. The SL and Platinum get even more, with the addition of a surround-view camera and traffic sign recognition.
Every Murano trim is outfitted with four USB ports (two Type-A and two Type-C), plus an infotainment system featuring an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, voice recognition, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Integrated navigation is added at the SL level, while the Platinum alone gets NissanConnect remote vehicle services. For audio, the SV and Midnight Edition get a basic six-speaker setup, while the SL and Platinum are loaded with an 11-speaker Bose unit.
