The 2024 Nissan Kicks is a front-wheel-drive subcompact crossover offered in three trim levels: S, SV, and SR. Their powertrain consists of a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with an Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission). Take note that the ’24 Kicks achieves class-leading fuel economy, with official EPA-estimated ratings of 31 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
The Kicks has seating for up to five and its tall design is beneficial for both headroom and cargo items that have a little extra height. Standard 60/40-split fold-down rear seats allow for various storage solutions, including a spacious 53.1 cubic feet of cargo area when both rear seats are folded flat.
The S is the entry level trim in this crossover lineup, but it still comes well-equipped with features like remote keyless entry, push-button start, automatic on/off headlights, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, three USB-A ports, illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, a tilt/telescoping steering column, and 16-inch steel wheels. The SV adds Nissan Intelligent Key with remote start while moving up to an 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen and adding a second 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display for the driver-assist technologies. Its other features include chrome interior door handles, a USB-C port, rear passenger under-seat heater ducts, silver roof rails, and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The SR elevates the interior with premium materials and features, such as a Prima-Tex-appointed dash with contrast stitching, silver exterior door trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport cloth upholstery with orange accents and stitching, automatic temperature control, and a remote start system with intelligent climate control. This top-level Kicks also adds full LED exterior lighting (headlights with signature accents, daytime running lights, and fog lights), black-finished heated outside mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, black roof rails, and a dark-chrome grille.
Nissan prioritizes safety in the Kicks, with every trim level receiving these Safety Shield 360 technologies: forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, high beam assist, a rear sonar system, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear automatic braking. Intelligent cruise control, automatic brake hold, and the intelligent driver alertness system are added to the SV and SR. The rearview monitor in the SR is replaced with the Intelligent Around View Monitor; this trim also gets the Integrated Dynamics-Control Module with active ride control, intelligent trace control, and intelligent engine brake.
In the base S, you’ll find three USB-A ports and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto compatibility, Apple CarPlay integration, Siri Eyes Free for voice commands, and a Bluetooth hands-free phone system for audio streaming and safe communication while you’re driving. The two higher trims are enhanced with a USB-C port, an 8-inch NissanConnect color touchscreen, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) Updates for software enhancements, NissanConnect Services (with a three-year trial), and SiriusXM radio (3-month tiral subscription included). The Bose Personal Plus audio system with eight speakers and Bose UltraNearfield driver headrest speakers is available in the SR.
