2019 Nissan Titan
The 2019 Nissan Titan is a full-sized pickup that’s designed to provide functionality, comfort, and daily driving pleasure. It’s available in five trims, S, SV, Pro-4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve. There’s also a distinct heavy-duty variant called the Titan XD. Both the Titan and Titan XD come with America’s Best Truck Warranty, providing bumper-to-bumper coverage for 5 years or 100,000 miles.
Three body styles are available to choose from which include Single Cab, King Cab, and Crew Cab. The standard safety features include brake assist, anti-lock disc brakes, and electronic stability control. In the higher trims safety upgrades can be added to include more trailer assist functions and driver assist aids such as blind spot warning, a rear camera, and front and rear parking sensors with a surround view system.
The Midnight Edition Package is offered on the Crew Cab SV and SL, and brings more style and personality, with features such as blacked out 20-inch alloy wheels, spoilers, front grille and bumpers, step rails, and mirror caps. The ’19 Titan is the first Nissan vehicle to feature the new Fender Premium Audio System, which features 12 speakers (10 on King Cab) that are strategically placed to provide a dynamic audio experience and clarity at any volume level. The system is standard on the Crew Cab SL, SL Midnight Edition, and Platinum Reserve and optional on Crew Cab and King Cab PRO-4X models.
Power and Capability
Enjoy the ability to tow up to 9,660 pounds (with a fully equipped Single Cab version) with the ’19 Titan’s powerful 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine, which makes 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. The engine uses Nissan’s VVEL (variable valve event and lift) technology, which electronically controls variable valve lift and hydraulically controls the valve timing to provide high performance and optimal response. All trim levels have a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but all trims can be ordered with a part-time four-wheel drive system with a transfer that case ensures maximum distribution in every gear. The Titan’s durable chassis design incorporates a fully boxed, full-length ladder frame, and the double wishbone front suspension provides high performance for on- and off-road use. PRO-4X models get Bilstein off-road shocks for superior stability.
The Titan XD is strengthened with commercial components and has an upgraded engine option for a 310 hp 5.0-liter Cummins diesel engine that churns out 555 lb.-ft. of torque. When it’s fully equipped, the XD becomes an impressive tow rig that can tow a whopping 12,710 pounds; the Single Cab version can handle payload up to 2,990 pounds.
The Titan receives a multitude of technology features that enhance towing and driving experiences such as a trailer brake controller, sway control, a trailer light check system, and a tow/haul mode with downhill speed control. Other features include a Rearview Monitor with Trailer Guides and an Intelligent Around View Monitor with Nissan’s unique Moving Object Detection, providing a birds-eye view of the vehicle and alerts when objects are moving around it. For connectivity, all trims get a new 7-inch touchscreen display with NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. NissanConnect allows smartphones to access features such as remote door lock/unlock, remote engine start/stop, and valet alert, which notifies drivers if their vehicle leaves a set radius.
